Vehicle Dynamics Tuneable Test Engineer
Location: UK (Hybrid / On-site as required)
Travel: Onsite testing and customer travel will be required
Role Overview
We are seeking a Vehicle Dynamics Tuneable Test Engineer to support the development and optimisation of ride, handling, and steering performance through vehicle testing and calibration of tuneable parameters.
This role focuses on translating vehicle dynamics targets into real-world performance, working across test, subjective assessment, and data-driven development to deliver a refined and engaging driving experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute vehicle test activities (track, proving ground, and road)
- Develop and tune key vehicle dynamics parameters, including:
- Dampers and springs
- Anti-roll bars
- Steering systems (EPAS tuning, feedback, weighting)
- Bushings and compliance elements
- Conduct subjective vehicle assessments and correlate with objective data
- Analyse test data to support ride, handling, and stability improvements
Support development of:
- Kinematics & Compliance (K&C) characteristics
- Ride comfort and body control
- Steering feel and response
Work closely with:
- Vehicle dynamics and attribute teams
- CAE and simulation engineers
- Chassis design and integration teams
- Support vehicle builds, instrumentation, and test setup
- Document results and provide clear engineering recommendations
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in vehicle dynamics testing and tuning
Strong understanding of:
- Ride and handling fundamentals
- Suspension systems and tuneable components
- Vehicle balance, grip, and transient behaviour
- Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools (e.g. MoTeC, Vector, Bosch, etc.)
- Ability to perform subjective vehicle evaluations with clear feedback
- Hands-on experience in test environments (track and road)
- Strong communication and reporting skills
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in high-performance or luxury vehicles
- Knowledge of EPAS calibration and steering system tuning
- Familiarity with simulation tools and correlation (e.g. CarMaker, Adams)
- Understanding of tyre behaviour and influence on dynamics
- Experience working with global test locations or varied environments
