Chassis Design Engineer (Siemens NX)
Location: UK (Hybrid / On-site as required)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Chassis Design Engineer with strong experience in Siemens NX, focused on the design and development of structural chassis and suspension components.
This role will involve delivering robust, production-ready designs across components such as subframes, suspension systems, brackets, and mounting structures, supporting programmes from concept through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop chassis components and assemblies using Siemens NX
- Own parts from concept, packaging, and layout through to detailed design and release
- Deliver components including:
- Subframes and structural frames
- Suspension components (arms, knuckles, mounts)
- Brackets, joints, and mounting interfaces
- Ensure designs meet performance, durability, and manufacturing requirements
Collaborate with:
- CAE teams (Durability, NVH, Reliability)
- Vehicle dynamics engineers
- Manufacturing and suppliers
- Produce 2D drawings with GD&T, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Support design reviews, change management, and issue resolution
- Apply DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and automotive best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in Siemens NX within an automotive environment
- Proven background in chassis or suspension design
Understanding of:
- Structural load paths and durability requirements
- Suspension systems and interfaces
- Experience with manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining, fabrication)
- Ability to deliver production-quality CAD and drawings
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in low-volume, performance, or motorsport programmes
- Exposure to vehicle packaging and kinematics (K&C)
- Experience working with suppliers and external manufacturing partners
- Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, 3DX)
